    Can't load text from asp page and use shared Library ?!

    Hey,

    I've found a bug or a quirk that I can't get around.
    I'm using asp (& DB), to load text into dynamic text fields.
    I'd also like to use a shared Library to save load time.

    I've found that if I use a dynamic text field and have symbols on the stage that are linked to a shared Library swf, that the text field doesn't get loaded.
    If I remove the linked symbol, the text shows up.

    I have had success with createTextField(), however, I want to use a special font, and I haven't seen anything on setting the font of a dynamically created text field.

    If anyone has any insight on this I would be gratful to hear it.

    thanks,

    -J

    Found part of the answer with createTextField method and textFormat method

    k,

    found part of the answer in the textFormat method.

    1) create the text field.

    this.createTextField("subTitle", 1,10,10,250,21);

    2) create a textFormat method, I guess that's what it's called.

    // begin text formatting for subTitles
    subTitle = new TextFormat();
    subTitle.type="dynamic";
    subTitle.background=false;
    subTitle.multiline=false;
    subTitle.html=false;
    subTitle.maxChars=30;
    ***subTitle.embedFonts=true;
    subTitle.font="Agency FB";
    subTitle.size=18;
    subTitle.bold=true;
    subTitle.italic=true;
    subTitle.color=0xffffff;
    // end text formatting

    3) next, back upto the createTextField action and ref. the formatting.

    this."subTitle.setTextFormat(subTitle);

    *** the only thing I haven't been able to do is embed the font.
    If anyone could show me how that little trick is pulled off, again I'd be grateful.

    - J
