    Blurry Fonts

Please check out this part of my site for me. I created it on a MAC and tested it on quite a few PC's. Most are ok but on some the font is fuzzy. I used Arial font mostly. Should I use a device font instead? Is this what most Flash Designers use?

    Thanks!

    Hola-

In most cases designers use something called "PIXEL FONTS" this should clear up any problems with blurry text. Once you have your pixel font picked out..make sure that you have the text on a whole number value.
This means that when you are done typing your text...check to make sure it resides on the X & Y of whole numbers.... like X:43 Y:25
and NOT X:43.7 Y:25.3 Get it? If you have any more questions just let me know.

    Pixel Fonts?

Thanks for your reply! Are Pixel fonts the same as what Flash 5 calls Device Fonts (sans and serif)? I will change my x and y to whole numbers - I had heard that might help. Do you know if I can use font size 11 or should I stick to 10, 12, 14, etc.?
    Thanks again!

    Hola-

Device fonts (pretty sure) are the fonts that ARE on everyones computer. SO there will be no replacement when a user views the file.

Pixel fonts are fonts made using whole pixles...(Usually only good at 8pt or multiples) very nice for a clean or techie look

do a search for pixels fonts..you will find TONS. I personally use a font called "fixed_01"

If you want a font that looks like arial try using sans-serif with the device fonts option selected. Pixel fonts are okay, but can look a little too stylised if you just want a plain font.
