    Well, Kikkoman is the soy sauce you generally get at a Japanese restaurant in a bottle shaped somewhat like a fish.

    Though that doesn't even come close to explaining what the heck that animation is about.

    I'm sure many Japanese would find the Ronald McDonald Time Travel video equally disturbing....

    Of course this is a startling gimmick for branding Kikkoman Soy Sauce indelibly into you brain, and perhaps destroying your appetite for food altogether at the same time. Oh, well...nothing ventured, nothing gained. Besides, if we can brainwash all these anime-watching and video-game playing kids into using Kikkoman on their french fries, potato chips, shimp puffs and bananas, we got customers for life.

    The weirdo twist here is that "Kikkoman" sounds very similar to the name of an old anime TV show about costumed wrestlers (Kinicuman?). Think of an animated WWF, and that's kinda it. The show had decent ratings and ran for years. Many tie-in toys were made, etc., etc', so it's very well-known to a Japanese audience.

    Unfortunately the sound didn't come thru for me, but I can imagine...

    he also looks like a guy of an old japanese game i've got for snes called muscleman... or something to that degree...
    maybe that was based of that Kinicuman show?

    Yes it is. Kinnikuman - there's a new series (well, newly translated) showing on Fox tv here in the states. And the comics are still popular.

    I assume the cat displeased Kikkoman in some way, probably by not buying enough soy sauce, miso soup mix and other related kikkoman products
    I should be okay I use loads of soy sauce
