    72 Hour Challenge - Who's competing?

I'm just wondering whether or not its worth my time. I'd love to compete, but I leave to snowboard for the entire winter very shortly (jealous? haha) and I have stuff to do before I go.

But there are some people I'd love to compete against and I'll give it a shot if they are...

What's the theme and when? School is cramping me, but if it suits I'll gladly partake.

Ohh, I'll compete, but I'm not a very insperational person , so I'll probably come up with a crappy idea

The theme is "The Elements" and its going on now.

I decided to compete... just couldn't resist the theme. I just started, so don't worry if you haven't. Lots of time still.

I really hope you compete Ed, so make an effort. I'd love to see something impressive out of you.

listen guys, you all jumped on Matt Guest's back when he posted one thread, when i was organising the last challenge, i thought it was suggested that the challenge was going to be organised elsewhere than the flashkit boards and we have 4-5 threads on the topic. it it really necessary?

Is it really necessary to have 4-5 threads about the same topic floating around on the boards?, if it has to be done can we please stick to 1 thread for a single discussion/challenge (there is only a need for a maxinum of two threads, the "who's in and what's the topic" thread and the "who's won/vote" thread -

i was under the impression that after the last challenge was posted - by Matt.G. that it was going to be kept away from the flashkit boards.

Ed Mack, you and Blink Ok

And though you may not know me due to your absence, it seems that you had quite the presence on this board on the past... so I'm led to believe that you're a competitor. Am I right?

    sure i know you devnull,
but nope, sorry,i have too many things to do right now:
-work some more on 2k game engine and editor
(you know, that 2d iso rpg project of luxregina, jeroen, edmack and me)
    -finish a company website
-finish my novel size post to subway
-work on another project together with blinkok, phreax and jeroen
-create a bust a move tute for magnetos once i come to it
    -...
    -...
(could go on for pages, but that would give me the feeling of having no time to visit fk anymore or finish this post,so...)

as you see, behind the scenes i´m still a (almost) fulltime fk member, hope after finishing at least two of the above listed,i can spend a bit more time here for putting my 2 cents everywhere till my purse is empty, just like i used to
(or take part in cool competitions like this one)

thanks, still nice to be among your "most wanted contenders",hope to be able to compete next time.

For me, next time is in 7 months.

Plus you're talking to the guy who has a million things to do in the week and a half I have before I leave. I have to:

-finish coding a website for a client (still quite a bit)
    -debug it (heh)
    -buy new clothes and equipment
-take an exam that I have not started studying for
    -apply to universities

I figure this thing will take me 8 hours. Why not take the same chance that I am? It'll be fun.

    EDIT:
    TOMSAMSON:
And if you have any competitiveness in you, think of it this way. The reason I'm asking you to compete is because I want to beat you. heh

    EDMACK:
Its all about a vague theme. I always start off by thinking, what is something cool I could program with the theme.

I started thinking about particle fire, waves with curveTo, giant slabs of rock bursting through the ground, tornadoes.

Now how easy is it to do something with that?

haha, I feel like that all the time.

Art skills are a dime a dozen. I just do a google image search most of the time and essentially trace the things I find. It's not like anyone is expecting a Picasso. It's really all about coding something cool.

yep,it´s really fun,i even like it more as the topic is so open, that leaves much space for creativity
besides that, you almost smashed me with the glove (you know, like in the medieval days,an open proclamation for a duell between two respected men..),if i would deny your challenge,i couldn´t show my face in castle fk without having it turning red like a twisted tomato...
