Go to the Viewport setup and click force 2-sides. See if that fixes it.

its just the simple place an object over an object and boolean it...then subtract the cylinder from the rim mesh

Did you accedently check the cut feature under the boolean paramaters?

nope...but after doing it the way it should have been done i went on to see if cut made any changes or fixed it..but nope..boolean is of no use it seems

    Hey Vatcher,
I'm surprised that no one has told you yet that while boolean's are easy to use and do the job quickly, that they frequently do what its doing to you now. I've had this problem meany times, but my problem was the way in which I was cutting away at an object, or the level of detail (ie no enough segments etc etc).

As of yet I still haven't found a really good solution to fill those holes in, but one way that I found works (only simple though) is to add a 'Cap Holes' modifier. That'll, as it says, cap the holes...all holes that are exposed it will fill up.

    hope that helps

yea i tryed the cap holes modifier but its no good, it just caps up the whole thing ..not giving it walls like i want, so thats useless also...seems this is another model thats going in the recycle bin...err

yeah, worth a shot. I know they never really worked for me on complex models, and yeah...I had to always backtrack or start from scratch! biggest pain ever I reckon. I with the boolean tool would be able to handle whatever you throw at it, but I guess that's asking a bit much

ok chewman..lets march down to discreet and file a complaint...after purchasing a $3200 piece of software i believe its not to much to ask for the boolean to work correctly...am I right or am i right?
