macros-actions in photoshop ?
i have made a set of actions i.e on f2 it asks to open file,on f3 it
changes image mode, and on f4 it closes the opened file.
So the problem area is i m not able to set the action for saving it i mean to say is that how can i set that action in which it should ask the location where to save the file.

, do you mean you have set up separate actions for each of those things, with the keys f2, f3 etc applied as short cut keys?
I musn't be understanding you correctly. Why wouldn't you make one action (with for example the f2 key shortcut) and have that whole action open your file, change the image mode, save the file and close the file? You could then apply this action to other files.
If you record an action and witin that recording you use the save command the action will include a save. However if you are applying this action to a batch of files, you will need to override the save command, so that it saves but not oversaves all the files over your first file. Information on this can be found in the photoshop help files, under batch. Also look in file > automate for the batch command.
I hope this is helpful. Sorry if I have mis-understood your question.
cheers
