PNG VS. JPG? Which one is smaller in file size?

    Hi

I've made a flash movie file and have tested it using both jpg and png. I'm a bit confused since I've read you should use png files since there better in quality. Well, I've tested it with both png and jpg and the jpg version movie is 250k verses the png movie file which is 540k? So, why png when it makes the file bigger?

I even clicked off "allow smoothing" in the properties box for the png and its still much bigger than the jpg.

    thanks

png is bigger then jpg the advantage is that, as gif, png may have transparency. so of course, if you don't need it, and you look at the jpg and it is ok, use it

What quaility is the JPG set to?

I am starting to use PNG more and more, as eventually GIF and JPG will be replaced by PNG.
