    Flash Deployment Kit, useless?

    Hi all,

I was looking for a way to upgrade/install flash player if the user didn't have it, and I came across Flash Deployment Kit.

I tried the dispatcher and I got it to work, but it didn't do much?
The dispatcher is kind of useless, beacues there is still an installation pop up that asks if you want to install the flash player. This can be achieved without the dispatcher, just using any ordinary .swf file.

Isn't there another way to install flash player without any notice at all?
And there is one more thing, I can't figure out how to install Flash Player 5, I've downloaded it from macromedia but don't know how to install. (I'm using WinXP)

any help would be great, thanks in advance

Its not a good idea to install software on an unsuspecting visitor.

    whiterabbit: what do you mean?

I just want to install the flash player as easily as possible, because I know the clients don't have any computer knowledge. I don't want them to get confused.

But also I can't see any difference between the function of the Deployment Kit and the one built with the .swf files, does anybody know if there is a difference?

    thanks
