    Vending machine - BMP

    I'm going crazy ... I'm making a vending machine on which I have to add 4 bmps on a flat background. One bmp is the main cover on the vending machine, the three other bmp's are the button images.

    Where I'm going bezerk is the trial & error sizing in the extrusion editor. Whatever I do, I can't seem to get the plain bmp fixed according to the original size.

    F.e. the largest BMP is 150 x 300 px ... what does that size, represent in grid size in the extrusion editor ? Is there an easier way to determin how to draw the shape in the extrusion editor based on the original bmp image size ?

    I suppose that in the materials editor the bmp should be planar solid or am I wrong ?

    Anyone has an easier/faster solution to do this.

    The image is the following

    create your extrusion like this;

    note how the top left corner of the square is aligned to the center (x=0,y=0) of the grid. Then change your material to the bitmap, planar solid. you can use the render in window button to make it easier to see the results;

    i then go back and forward between the extrusion editor (or change the size panel values) to make the extrusion fit the bitmap. think of the extrusion as a window on the bitmap.
    hope that helps

    Blink,

    That's exactly what I did, but the outcome gives a distorted image which turns out to be wider than the original image ! I tried everything, but each time in order to get the full image on the extrusion, the width is increased compared to the original giving a stomped can !

    once you have the bitmap on the object. Change the x and y scale to stretch or squish the image.

    My problem was using a plane to put the bitmap on. This makes much more sense!
    Thank Blink
