ok ...guess we'll have to do it the old fashioned way

Ive got MyHeadlines all setup and running here: http://www.vfxtalk.com/news/html/

Ok, click admin (after you logged in as an admin), then click the "submit" button NEW HEADLINE. There you need to enter the title, desctiption of the site and this URL: http://www.cgchannel.com/news/archive.jsp
Switch the scraper on and past the scraper template into the textfield.
Click PREVIEW and test if the scaper works. If it works, save the scraper.
Now you can see it in the admin list/folder structure, search your new source in the list and make it mandotary. Now everyone has this news feed as a standard feed. (Of course they can still select other feeds)

PS: Import the newsisfree .imp file.

nice one!!!
how do we get the images that come with the news ??? also there are a few little pieces in the text that weasled their way in ...its code tags for URLs eg:
What else can we say!!<br><i>Quicktime.com</i>
Once i get the scrapers working perfectly...i can display them on my site and it will all be beautiful, the world will again be a glorious place
Cheers dude...hear from you soon...

The pictures will only show if they are in the description tag like in the CNN scraper. I hope that the next version will support them. You can already use the tag like in the cg channel scraper, but right now they are just used/replaced with the normal {dump} tag.
The feed looks a bit different in the admin preview, normaly the html tags for italics and bold ... will show ok in the user view.

Mike Agar is doing a new version with image support. Till then it's only possible if the image is in the headline text (Same table ...)

I have no idea. I just know that it will support images in the scrapers and a template system.
Here's one of my previous chats with him:
---------

You are right inline with my thoughts on both of these! I had
identified the {image_0}, {image_1}, etc tags as an excelent expansion
of the scraper template system but I've not started working on it yet.
The search function has been started with the 4.1.2 release, the DB
schema was adjusted to allow for this and it should be available in an
upcoming release. I am considering a tie in with the Syndic8 XML-RPC
backend so that the search hits both the MyHeadlines DB and the Syndic8
site... If the source definition comes from the Syndic8 site then the
source will be added automatically to the MyHeadlines DB.
Lots of work to be done.
Cheers,
Mike
