    Content managment

    Hi guys,
I'm not sure if this post sould be here,
anyway i was wondering if anyone knows any
simple and plain software for content managment.
I want to build a site with a news session and
be able to easilly update the contents. The pages
will be in .htm format due to linitations on the
    host server.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Zanny

That's a question best suited for backend and scripting.
    So I'll move it there.

Though if it's straight html I seriously doubt of it being
    possible.

    shtml, perl, php, asp.

I know of no paid hosting arrangement that doesn't have
    some sort of cgi scripting.
    php, asp, perl

Some free hosts also allow for cgi languages.
    http://netfirms.com allows for cgi
    http://brinkster allows for asp

There are several made in form cms packages both free
    and pay to work with.
    Some involve very little setup.

try there, easy to set up. But you'll pay, not loads but you'll pay.

If you want to easily update sections or call on data from other sites like a news feed, weather exc.... you should seriously consider investing in a hosting service that supports ASP, PHP exc.... They are out there and can be quite cheap. Although you could in theory make this site ALL in HTML but it will be 10X the work and will have 10x less functions as using a dynamic solution.(ASP,PHP,exc....)

Have you thought about XML? This may help and it's free. I have used this before:
