Microsoft vs Sheepy - Episode II: PNG Transparency

    Just sent this to Microsoft:

    Hello,

I am having problems with PNG pictures.

My friends using Linux and Mac OS can all see transparent backgrounds on PNG images, however, when I view them in Internet Explorer with Windows XP (latest and updated) it just shows a grey background.

How can I get the transparent background?
What do we all think the answer is?

Reply: Oh dear, sorry about that...p.s. careful with corrupt PNGs in IE, there's a security hole there.

    It's a feature, not a bug.

That feature has been in IE for soooooooooooooo looooooong.

Why not ask them why you can't view MNG or JNG images without a plugin or why CSS does not work right or why they haven't upgraded VML to SVG in IE yet...

    You know the hard questions...

    There answere:

"Of course it is transparent, you just got to set the background color of the page to the same color as the PNG."
John Starkey: So what if I have had sexual relations with Saddam.

Best to start with the easy ones first, johnie

I think that they'll suggest you use Microsoft Paint for all your image editing needs, and it supports all the formats that everyone who works at Microsoft has ever come across.
