Scroll with a side of mask

Help me Please!

I am making a scroll "thingie" in my movie, i have all the action scrpit done, he he Im having troble on the easiest part
I wanna mask the text (which is a MC) so its only shows up in one area. When i mask it, the text disappears. Although, when it's unmasked, no problems. I've triend everything!

In a word... ARGH!!!

If you are using text loaded from a variable
then you cant mask it, that I can see. You can however resize the window to the shape you want using the text tool. If you are trying to make radius edges then you will have to make the text hard coded as plain text and have buttons that tell the movie clip to goto next frame. Flash 3 style. Regards, Bill

1. The text is an MC
2. In the flash stage, it shows the mask, but when it it published, or viewed - the darn thing isn't there.

What Gives?

I got it. Actually i got it yesterday night around 11pm. I don't know why, but I just deleted the layers, and inserted newones, put in the mask, and volia! it works.

Although pope, I am starting my own company and will have what I am doing as an example
I'll give you the site when it's up!
