you are not going to get a full domain www.something.com for free. You may want to check out some of the reviews in my footer for freewebhosts where you could put your "imaged" and "vids", granted they arn't to big and follow the fwh's TOS.

including restrictions on whether you can even move your domain from them to another provider at all. I know several people that registered with companies like godaddy and found that they had to keep their domains with them for at least a year.

And dont bother asking a member. Subdomains with admin axcess will allow you to ascess the Webmasters info like. Credit card info. Name. Address. Most people don't like to give some of that info away.

You can define where on your web server you hold the files for any domain or subdomain, and restrict the user's access to that location. We have many people with access to our servers and a couple of them have subdomains (for app testing), we keep all the 'client' directories in a seperate dir from our own.

haha, sorry, did i put my foot in it?
It might be a little different for us though, we actually own our servers and rent bandwidth, rather than actually having a 'host', we are our own hosts.
maybe that means we can do it, but gerbs can't?

nope. I can't at all... I'd have to make a change in my plan to allow others to FTP into the main directory, where the WWW files are located. Even if I were to allow access to that location, you would gain access to vital information... which, I'm not inclined to share.
oh well. trying to be nice, and it backfired. and now this. great.
and to think, if I recalled correctly, I was the only person that offered.

Anyone else mind telling me what the hell is going on?
PAlexC: That's just Chuck Norris's way of saying sometimes corn needs to lay the heck down.
Gerbick: America. Stabbing suckers since Vespucci left.
