    Additional effects?

    Hey everyone,

I just bought Swish and I'm having a ball learning about Flash movies. I wanted to know though, are there additional effects out there that can be added to Swish via purchase and or download? It has a lot of good ones, but I can't seem to find the ones I'm looking for.

    Thanks

    Chuck

i am not too sure if swish takes in plugins. what sort of effect do you want? if you describe it, someone may be able to tell you how to achieve it with swish.

as sauvage was hinting at almost all the effects given can be changed and manupulated to do somethiing else. Either by adding motion or by changing the effect it self. In the effects box that comes up when you add an effect, mess around with the options and im sure you will find some things you like

    Hope that helps

    Sure you can!

Check out the SWiSHspot Resource Directory:

    http://www.swishspot.com/cgi-bin/ss-dir/main.cgi

We've still got a little cleanup after the crash, but most of the items are back in place, including about 30 Swish sfx files. If you need to know how to install them, reply in this thread and I'll put up the instructions.

Well, the Resource Directory is there - many of the items are not as of yet.

Here's a file with most of the effects and a short install explanation:

sorry i did not make myself clear.
when i said i was not sure if swish took plugins, i had in mind plugins such as those from KAI power tools and other developers of effects plugins not flash-based.

These are not Flash-based plugins - merely Swish .sfx files created by making a cool effect and saving it with a new name.

Collect 'em all! Trade 'em with your friends!

Read the included readme.txt file for installation instructions.

(Basically you just copy the files from the Unzipped\Effects\3D Spin folder into your C:\Program Files\SWiSH v2.01\Effects\3D Spin folder, etc...)

Don't overlook the value of playing with the parameters of the various effects in order to generate new ones. Here is the result of about three minutes playing with the alternate effect - there is almost no limit to the number of variants you can produce. Click the bar to move from one effect to the next - www.wellesley.edu/Chemistry/Flick/alternate.swf

    Cheers,
