3ds max 5.... you like it?

    Hello,

I just got a demo 3ds max 5 cd today in the mail. I think it is a interesting program so far. Anyone here use it? I am so far impressed with some of the features and I am sure theres a ton I do not know about yet. I am trying to create some characters The only thing holding me back is the cost of the software. I think it is 3,000. Maby I should buy a student license since I am a student... though I could not use it commercially. Ohh well I gotta think.

I beleive that the investment in 3DS Max 5 would be worth will if you are planning to use it commercially. I have charged over £4000 for a flash project using 3ds max.

And yes its a great program especially if you have had chanc to work with 3ds max 4. It is a superb dynamic program. That can acheive staggering effects.

Although 3ds max is a great program, I would not drop 3,000 dollars if you are not going to use in to make some money. If you just want to learn and have fun the student would be great. I think its about 450 dollars at www.studica.com or www.journeyed.com.

Arg... I still havn't recieved my demo CD yet... after like 2 months!! And I even re-submitted the forms. Ugh. Well if they don't want my business, then I guess that I'll just stick to 4.2.
