viewers were not amused by the triple tit nav on Der Bauers..

that is very sad, but in terms of derbaur as a web design outfit, it was bound to happen, they are very much like whoswe, great 3D but no idea about interface design.

i do agree...although Derbauer produced fantastic intro and animation work and i respect it as quality that alot of designers including myself could not replicate....their webpage/flash/interface work was never really that good. I never found myself "wow-ed" by their interface work like I did from the intro work. The going out of business is a shame.

wow, that's another sigh of reality isn't it?

I think you're all right, they didn't really have the best UI designs going but such beautiful work, same genre but they were in a league above whoswe that's for sure.

It's a pity they couldn't find a place in post work or some other visual creative area.

I never got the feeling that they were ever really a "Company" so to speak. Reading their profiles and things in the past I always got the feeling like it was more like 2 buddies..who had a name..and did work together whenever it came down the pipeline.

That is just my take though. I could be completely wrong.

well, today is january fifth (05.01) in german i think you right dates like DD-MM-YYYY and not like in english MM-DD-YYYY

anyway, the other date is 12.01.03 january 12, 2003, right? maybe they're coming back that day, i guess that is pretty obvious, isn't it?????

But at least it says 12.01.2003 and not 08.03.2003 (march 8th, 2003)....that would be too ironic for me!!!!

In England we write the dates dd-mm-yyyy as they do in Germany. So this looks like they could be back up next Sunday?

They are probably only taking a break... I lived in Germany for a long time and even the 'official' english translator seem to get things worng (un-intentionally)...

Just a few days ago i posted up a thread on their work...and now they're gone....Why can't they merge with 2A or Fi and do something....its terrible to see such talents going to waste.....
