    computer issues again!

so i finally sorted out the computer not turning on problem. turns out to be the faulty grahpic card that kept shorting out the mother boards[wasted 3 of em!!!]

anyways, now a new problem. i had windows xp home installed. but i get invalid boot error ever time i try to boot with win xp home. i tried booting with the windows 98 boot disk and the c:\windows folder dosne't seem to exist!! i also had redhat 8 installed. which is working just fine. i don't know what crappy problem this is with windows it won't just reinstall over the existing setup without deleting all the user accounds and my documents folders!!!! **** MS!!!

basically, the problem of Windows, is that it's made by Microsoft.

windows wont boot unless it is located in the 1st partition on the first drive which may have been muddled when you installed RH.

    Hope that helps

dude, edit your LiLO boot record to include the Windows Boot... sounds like you've included LiLO to the MBR, which honestly, I'd say is a good thing.

search google. and btw, if you formatted your WinXP drive with NTFS, that Win98 boot disk won't do crap for you... Win98 only sees FAT32 partitions at best.

google search this one. the info is out there.
