    flashcom structure

i did a production install of the flashcom server. this produced the two different flashcom folders, one in the web server area one on a different drive.

one of the biggest stumbling blocks i had was thinking that all the FLV files would go into the flashcom folder on the webserver. after all, that's the one you could normally access from FTP, right? made sense to me.

after spending several days banging my head against the wall, i popped it in the other folder and it worked.

my question to you all is, .what on earth is the flashcom folder in the webserve area for? i haven't used it for anything yet and am wondering when i will.

    thanks!

    Hey -
The webserver folder is for your html/swf files. So if you had a site in a folder called "myFolder", you're main.asc, streams and shared-objects would go into a folder with the same name, inside the other folder. The purpose is to make sure that your main.asc file and whatnot aren't accessible through your public web-space.
