you need a host which supports flashcom server. You usually upload your files to your normal webhost (hmtl and swf) and your swf then establishes a connection to the flashcom server.

Some companies offer webhosting and you can add flashcom to it, others offer just the flashcom service, leaving you flexible when it comes to your normal hosting.

We offer UK based flashcom hosting (but you can obviously sign up to it from anywhere in the world):
    www.flashcomstudio.com

Our service provides just the flashcom service, no normal webhosting. You can leave your swf and html files exactly where they are now.

Feel free to contact us with any questions.

Is there anything for web designers who are just playing around and to learn a bit about it. The prices seem a bit dear since its only 1 gig and then probably using film ect so it will chew that up quick. Anyone stricking any good deals for flashcom servers for designers just mucking around for learning and experimental stages.

    Hey Jaffa -
The latest release (1.5) contains a FREE developer edition! I don't recall the exact limitations, but I believe there is a table on the macromedia site explaining what you can and can't do with it.

You also definitely want to check out these guys. I have been hosting with them for the last couple of weeks, pretty killer deals:

I haven't got an exact figure to hand but it was under 1Gb for 3 weeks.
For applications that we monitor more closely I can say that even the PDA app has only used 3GB in over 8 weeks.

    Regards
