Transparent Button

Also i was woundering how to make my buttons transparent i have a button the says "shows" and there is a white bix around it when i put it on my web page how do i make it transparent?

not sure what you mean... is it a button i a flash movie that is invisible, but when you upload it and see it on the web there is a white box around that button?

i created a button with a word in it and then i hit publish and when i bring the published button into my page i only want to see the button and not the white work space behind it i want to be able to see through the button to my picture

If you want to be able to look through your button, give it a name, for instance myButton in the property inspector. Then in the actions frame write:
myButton._alpha=50;
which sets transparency to 50%.

ok ok i cant get you to understnad. ALL i want are the words on my page i dont want to see through the words but i want nothin in back of them. is that possible? pretend i have a page and i put a picture on it then i put my flash button on it. i dont want the white backround **** from my flash there i only want my button

if I get you right...
that gray back of your button is a shape right?
Just set alpha of shape = 0 %. no scripting nothing.

Or just put only the star and the word inthe frame 1,2,3 of the button panel...place the gray box into frame 4, then you'll only see the word and the star but the clickable area of your button has the size of your box...

is it really that simple?

it not a shape. it the backround of layer 1 of the scene. and it is there no matter what i do and i know there is a way to make it tranparent

yeah...just delete layer 1 and make your whole movie transparent!

put than into your html...

it wont let you deleat your last layer. it alwas makes you have one
