Mp3 details > frequency, bitrate etc > possible?

    Hi guys,

Is there any way to get Mp3 details such as bitrate, frequency etc using Flash MX?

I've had a good look round but can't find anything?

Basically from what I can gather Flash only support Mp3 playback in multiples of 11Hz (11Hz,22Hz,33Hz,44Hz). If the Mp3 is anything other than this it will play back faster than normal speed.

I need to check and see if the loaded Mp3 is in the proper format before I start playback...because I am letting people upload and play their own Mp3s....

    Any way to do this?

    Cheers

I guess if such software as this exists, then there must be a way using Flash:

Thanks for the link, however...this relies on a PHP script to do all the interigation of the Mp3 file. While this is not a problem...I was hoping to find a completely Flash based method due to the fact that php won't always be available in all situations.

I hope Macromedia include the ablility to read this type of information in future released of the Flash 6 player.
