A little teaser I made
I was contacted by a guy who is president of a local business. He said he saw my site and told me he might be interested in having me make some "high-tech" style graphics / animations for his site.
I am supposed to meet him on Monday, so on a whim I made a small intro / banner just for the hell of it.
Kind of a teaser in the hopes of getting my first web design customer.
I t's about 41k. Big for a banner, small for an intro. Not really useful, but it was fun to make and I really it will help to hook the "big fish".
I just thought I'd share it here.

PS.
They have their own logo. I just stuck this one in there to avoid using their copyrighted and protected logo image.

That's cool. I liked how you animated the logo with lines and circles.

Pretty nice. Might want to top it off with music.
I like how the shape transforms to different textures. I suppose those are individual pictures and you used fading? Good work.

Thanks Venio.
As you said, just simple fade from one image to another.... the poor man's morph.
As for music:
This was just to get his attention. If I do an actual project for his company, I will certainly consider using sound. I didn't want to bog down the loading time of a simple banner with large WAV files.

It'sreally nice though it seems to be lacking a bit in speed, really well animated but most people associate technology with speed, other than that it's really kewl!

Thanks Ollie.
Originally I had my movie at 20fps but it just was moving too fast to absorb the info... or so I thought.
So I dropped it down to 12 or 15 fps (I don't remember which) and it seemed better to me.
You may be correct about this and I would appreciate input from anyone else who has an opinion on it.
Thanks for taking the time to look & comment.
Robert
PS.
On a totally different subject:
Is 400x95 pixels too big for a banner in this forum?
I made one last night that I like... but I don't want to use it if it will annoy people.

Looks pretty cool to me, I hope you will catch that big fisch

Yea. I think he used a few non-high quality raster images on there... Also, the logo text is a raster too. It's big so I guess it makes it look blurry.
ArbitraryDesign, you might want to experiment with using pure vector graphics. If you have Flash (or a few other programs), you can convert raster to vector.

Thanks for the input.
This was never intended as a finished product or a major undertaking. It was meant only as a quick draft to give them the general idea of how this could apply to their business.
The images are bitmaps that were taken from low res images on a flyer.
The project pictured was one of their own, and I used those images so they could better relate to it.
It seems to have worked and they appeared to be very pleased...
I await their final judgement... lol.
The bitmaps do not look particualrly blurry on my computer, they also looked fine on his computer when I showed it to him.
Venio, once before you claimed a splash page I had created was blurry. It turned out you were on your school's computer... could this be the case again?

Pwahaha... Nope. You're on the right track though. I viewed it on a 15" CRT monitor. It looks fine on my 19" LCD. So nothing to worry about.
Cheers!
