    know a good hangover cure?

Had a bad one today , not my worst ever but definitely in the top 5!

Got hammered last night at this "schooldisco" thing and have suffered a bit since then, ever get that thing when your hands shake? not nice.

My usual cure is a big greasy fry-up but sometimes i find they can make you feel worse.

Anybody got any useful hangover cures that they'd like to share?

please don't say "stop drinking when you go out", tried that....can't do it!

Yup - the best thing is Pint of Lager - takes away the headache - then a fryup sarnie.

Or you could crack 2 eggs into a blender - 6 bananas, 25ml Tabasco, 3 jalpeno chilli's and some full fat milk.
Tastes foul, but takes your mind of your hangover

your nasty milkshake...please tell me you haven't tried that yourself

you seen "Back to the future 3" the western one? If you have, remember the bit where they give the Doc some "wake up juice"?

Often wondered if theres a drink like that for real! Thats why i'm appealing to the collective wisdom of the flashkit folk, bet someone's a got a secret cure they swear by.

    Hamgovers are caused by dehydration...

If you stay hydrated while drinking it lessens/ eliminates the hangover.

Likewise Gateraid and asprin work well and won't make you want to throw up quite so bad as Enigma's cure...

Spockbert, by the sound of schooldisco your a uk living type blokey, so try some powerade in the morning. you know, that new sports drink thing. I know it sounds daft, but I had a hell of a hangover once and came upon it by chance (didnt want to leave my warm bed, girlfriend wouldnt go and make me coffee, and it was the only thing around...). It really worked. Honest...

ha ha cheers I'll try that, have some powerade standing by next time.

Good laugh that schooldisco drinks are a bit pricey though, 4 quid a bottle....ouch.

A hangover is mostly attributed to de-hydration and sugar.

The worst thing to get a hangover from is Wine, because of the sugars.

For me, the best way to handle a hang over is to

    1: ADVIL!!

2: Gatorade, powerade or some spotr drink for the electro lytes.

3: A chicken sandwich menu meal from mcdonalds. The greese and oils are good for your stomach.

But i find your never 100% ok until the next day.

I've never been though various mates have. 4 quid a bottle is awful. 'course I once ate at a restaraunt that charged nearly thirty quid for a Bellini. On the other hand, it was the restaraunt where bellinis were invented so perhaps they had a right.

Almost any sportsdrink will do the trick for hangovers.

The reason is most of the discomfort is caused by dehydration and most sports drinks are designed to rehydrate the body.

Coofee can actually make a hangover worse as caffine is a diuretic although alchol is a much much stronger diuretic and hence will dehydrate you much much faster than cofee will.

secondly "But i find your never 100% ok until the next day" my god...you're lucky i used to be like that, now if i have a real big friday night, theres no way i can even think about boozing on the saturday.

gettin old, takes a good 2 or 3 days for me now

    I'm pretty sure Advil is Ibuprofen;

Tylenol and Asprin use diffrent drugs that effect the body slightly diffrently although they all are pain relievers.

Caffine helps the efficacy of pain killers- A cup of coffee and a pain killer helps. Although with a Hangover make sure you drink fluids first... Its the dehydration that causes most the symptoms.

Another note- Don't mix pain meds with Alchol. Take them only after you have stopped drinking for a bit. 1 hr after eachdrink consumed... Otherwise you could end up in the hospital.

    hehe .. radioactive man

The best hangover cure is without doubt a McDonalds coke. It's watered down enough to stop the dehydration and it's got a little caffeine to perk you up. I swear by them, the only problem is getting there in time for a sausage and egg mc muffin

I usually drink a couple of glasses of water in between beer pints and I'm good to go the next morning -same with Tequila. I never get sick or hangover.
