simple "save target as" question
can anyone tell me how to connect to a file on my server such that someone visiting my flash site can download that file (text document) to their own computer. i tried using getUrl, but that didn't work for me.
thanx

if it's a .doc you want them to save, you can link directly to it, targeting it in a blank (new) window. it will open, and from there it's down to the user to save it manually. zipping is good too, cos it will save directly, without opening, cos browsers can't open .zip. however, most users prefer to see what they're about to download nowadays, anything can be bundled into a .zip, and so make the user hestitant about downloading it.
