    Boardroom members show yourself

Okay People, we're here every day and we know your opinions on different matters but I wanna know the real you. Post a paragraph about yourself, heres mine:

Real name Bruce, called Razormedia as I had to think of a name for a business for a Uni project years ago and thats the best I could come up with, its kinda stuck since. I'm 25, live in Liverpool UK but have lived in Edinburgh and Wigan too. I have a degree in computer studies, started as a COBOL programmer but now work as a game developer / designer (not art trained though) but have not too bad a knowledge of several languages too. I freelance now and again when I'm approached but don't do too bad from my regular job. I am 6 foot 1 and I like girls.

My real name is Brandon. I've lived in Ontario, Canada my whole life, really in only two different cities. One, a small, usually unknown city, and the second which i moved to last year is part of the good ol Greater Toronto Area. I'm currently 23, and in the past 4 years moved my way up from junior designer to my current position as Design Manager for an internet firm. I'm also heavily employeed as a freelance, where i'm constantly networking and building my portfolio in hopes to launch my own firm in a couple years. I have a girlfriend who i've been with for over 3 years and a young daughter who means the world to me. Currently, life is good.

    I imagine that the statute of limitations has run out on the various misdemeanours I have pending in certain locations , so I'm pretty safe in saying that;

My name is Julian, I'm 36, I'm English, but I live in Sao Paulo, Brazil with my wife, Beth (who is a Brazileira). I lived in the US for about 16 years, where amongst other things, I got a BA (journalism) from Temple University, after which I moved back to London. I've had various editorial and design jobs, but I'm now, with Beth, running a small site design firm called Hurricane Graphics Ltda (to date, we've had almost 40 companies as clients).

I dig Flash a lot and think Actionscript is just about where it's at, though I have more talent in the design side if things than the coding side of things. I like beer, cars, my guitar, and I love my wife, son-to-be Leonardo (due late April), and my laptop, I'm 6' 2" and 220 lbs /100 kg and I'm a sensitive Cancerian.

Real name is Marc. I don't post here much, but I do read more or less anything that's posted. I live in Switzerland, and have dual american/swiss citizenship. I'm trying to learn as much about the industry as I can. I'm 16, and although I definitely don't know what I want to do in life, designer is a profession I'm thinking about. This board gives me insight on other company/individuals' experiences.

I'm 6'5 and play basketball a whole lot. I also play the acoustic guitar whenever I find the time to. I'm currently looking into studying in the US and enjoying not having anything to worry about .

My name is Mat Bastian. I'm 28 years old. I am pushing 5'7" in platform shoes. I live in Appleton, Wisconsin with my Wife Rebecca and two daughters. I live to promote. I love search engine optimization... I can't wait for next months Google Dance. Design is sort of a second love affair, albeit much more of a hobby than Search Engine Marketing. I also enjoy farting around with Flash, but if I need any real Flash work done I more often than not sub it out.

I run a small, young, presence/promotion business here in Appleton. I mainly partner with other design companies in order for them to be able to offer effective website promotion, seo, and ppc management without them having to carry a specialist on staff or resort to saying that they know what they are doing and in the end pissing their customers off by lack of performance due to the lack of a real, indepth passion and understanding of the craft. I also do do some design and promotion work for individual small businesses in my area.

In my spare time, I enjoy sleeping and making time to come to Flashkit.

Throwing the hat into the ring…

The dlowe is David Lowe-Rogstad. The 93 is my hockey number. Don't ask me where it came from, i really don't know. It's what i had in college and it just stuck.

Born in the San Francisco Bay Area, lived most of my adult life in Oakland, CA. Moved to Portland Oregon last year for a zillion and one little reasons, and one big one: my wife and i decided this is where we wanted to raise our family.

I have a baby boy (16 months actually), Owen Robert, and a lovely and wonderful wife. We're working on baby number two, but no luck yet.

Started out in this biz years ago as a pre-press guy, moved to agency side as a print production/designer type, and then evolved my way into web and interactive. Have been self-employed as a Flash designer and developer for two and a half years now. I'm still wondering when people are going to find out that i'm 35 years old, and still don't have a "real" job.

    So far i've been lucky.

Great to read about all you guys.

My name is Phil Ecker. I'm 25, male, 6'1" and living in the Bay Area. I got into computers in high school as a hobby, and was the Publications Director for my religious school's youth group I got good at playing with clip art and Illustrator. I was really into art as a kid. My brother is even more so into computers, and we've done a few projects together through our years.

I'm currently in medical school and am in my 4th out of 5th year. Design/coding kept me alive in the drudgery of stuffing my head full of facts during the first 2-3 years. Now that I'm in clinics, life is much better but I still love running this small little business. Besides my brother, I contract out a little work but don't have any employees. I got into Flash 2-3 years ago when I started on a project I thought up called Simbryo (simulated embryology). I never expected it, but I some how lucked out and it will be publishing with the #1 selling embryology book this spring (Langman's Embryology). My brother and I just finished v2.0.

Unlike most of you, no kids yet but we're working on #1. My friends in school think I'm nuts for trying now (the internship year is coming up), but as all of you dads and moms know, their is no "good" time to have a kid.

You can find me running with my black lab (2 y/o) around campus at 6 am.

Hi, Im (Daniel) Jaffasoft that name came about because i was gunna call my dog jaffa and i never got the dog so i called myself jaffasoft the soft because anything i do on the internet is to do with software , that was obvious. I'm 32 i started out as a chef after i had done one year in a suppermarket stacking shelves and dairy/freezer manager.
Ten years of limbo then i moved back home to biuld a house boat and it's almost finished to the piont where i could nearly move into it and finish the rest off.
People tend to laugh alot when there in my company i make them crack up.
I was never good at computers at school i used to sleep up the back of the class. Thats goes to show who easy the internet and PC's are to use now, for someone who was dumb.
I always looked at signs and liked the way they done them and advertisements so i got into the internet a bit once things started happening 2000.
I'm looking at doing small sites for my country community that's all i wanna do i don't wanna break the world.
I was big on Rush , Lez Zeppelin , none radio music and bands that didn't go commercial. I was big on Nurvana and now i havent got a radio.
I'm living in the town now that my grandfather grew up in and his gandfather. I spit up with my girlfriend who claims she is my wife then she now tells me she is pregnant so i'm stuck i don't know what i wanna do.
I got three cars I'm into scubba diving looking for crays the beautiful delecacy of the sea, it's not a bad sport sometimes. There is one of the largest rivers in the world in Australia, The Murray i plan to live there and do my designing for there.

My name is Mikhail Markin. Originally from Moscow, Russia, I am currently located in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada (moving to Kitchener, Ontario at the end of February). I am 17, in my graduating year of high school. Although I am planning to go for mathematics/computer science (at the University of Waterloo; ), web design & development is a big hobby of mine (freelancing, if you havent guessed). So far, I have mostly done web work as volunteering, but slowly but surely pushing my way into the paid business (first started Flash a couple of years ago, while got into all the HTML stuff way back)... Besides possessing fluent Russian (my motherlaguage) and fluent English, I also speak Japanese, having lived in Tsukuba (60km off Tokyo), Japan for 3 years. Other than computer work, I enjoy camping, hiking, canoeing (and all that outdoor travelling stuff), biking, swimming, etc.

Well, I guess thats a short outline of me....

My name is Geoff and I am a 25 year old Operations Manager for a small web design and hosting company called Globescope, Inc. in Washington, DC. My job functions include being a Senior Designer and Developer, as well as the Client Services Manager. My portfolio consists of over 50 websites, all designed the past 3 years.

I also have a freelance company on the side that I started in 2001. It has done me well.

Before Globescope, I went to George Washington University in Washington, DC and obtained a Bachelors Degree in International Affairs. Things didn't pan out like I had hoped at GWU ( was hoping for a career in the Intelligence Community, so I ended up discovering the world of web design. My roommate came home from a Business Adminstration class and showed me a website he had made that day in Netscape Composer. I was AMAZED when I saw it. I had always liked art and computers and never knew that I could use my creativity that way on the World Wide Web. The rest is history.

I am currently working towards obtaining a Certification in Interactive Multimedia and New Media Web Design from GWU. I will complete the program in July, then hopefully move to NYC to move into the 'Big World'.

I was born in Philadelphia, PA and grew up in Moorestown, NJ.
