    Parabola Graphing

I was wondering if any of the people on this forum knew of a flash application that will graph parabolas, preferably in fla format, or would be willing to assist in making one...

    Thank You,

    Spencer,
Thank you for posting the link to your graph plotter. It links very nicely to my question "can flash draw a quartic".
Is it possible to see the .fla file for this?
    many thanks,
    Tim

I tend not to give out fla's cos some people (not you) just rip off the code ,that may or may not of had alot of effort put into it.

There are many helpful posts on this subject - but suffice to say that you can work out the "answer" to the equation first - to give yourself a max and min y value (needed for self scaling) and then duplicate a line (usually 100 times for a particular range) rotating and resizing each to join up a set of coordinates to another set of coordinates (i.e. for a particular x find its corresponding y etc.), and then repeat. The self scaling and axis/grid lines are just fluff depending upon how you want to show the data.

Show me what you've got so far or give me a particular problem. And I need not mention that spencer is for hire!

    Hi swills,

Would you be interested in porting your plotter over to core o/s ?

I was trying to get people on this forum interested in writing graphing routines for 'calc' (office folder), but your neat graphing program could be an application in its own right.

    Interested?
