Constant Variable Checking ? (plzhlp!)

(plz delete my other post same name, i'm very retarded)

I have this problem where i have a mouseover/out in flash where some nice text pops up and then fades out... which works GREAT in flash. The problem is I need this to happen when i roll over/out a html button...

I got that to work tho... kinda. When I roll over the html button a var in flash turns x to eigther 2(on) or 1(off)... BUT, the way i handel the flash by using an onevent(enterframe) the flash doesnt ever see x

thus i roll over a button, x turns to 2, nothing happens.

(btw: this is a back up fla and might not have the if (x==2) in it, but you can see what i'm going for anyway)
