    copying a picture from another site

    pls check out the lovely globe at this web site
    http://www.dan.sp-agency.ca/www/rtoval.htm
    is it possible (i havent managed it yet)
    to copy the pic, wack it into flash, then using something like onion skin 'trace' the globe so i have an exact copy
    ive tried to draw free hand but im poo

    email the webmaster and ask for the file... try anything else and that'd be stealing.

    You could always try importing the gif and highlighting it on your stage and then going to Modify > Trace Bitmap.

    Play around with the settings, but I don't know if it will come out looking decent or not?
    You might want to cut all the crap from around it first, to save cpu power.

    all i wnat to do is trace it, i dont think the internet police will arrest me for that

    It should do exactly what it says on the tin... trace the image.
    It will turn it into a vector version, which you can play with in Flash or Freehand.

    your right,ive just been playing, its not perfect, but its produced
    quite an arty looking globe, better than the original
    cheers mate;o)
