you're being paranoid. besides, it's not like it doesn't happen on the regular.

everything should be okay... if you really need it, I'd email them; maybe they'll let it go for like $50 or something...

Bad Monkey
The .com equivalant of my domain, which I want really bad is taken by a large financial company...I'll get it one day

I'm still annoyed with myself though, I had all that time to register it and I never did it
Why would somebody register that name though? to most people that domain would be useless, I'm aware my domain name is a little odd and does sound like some household cleaning product.
They've taken their details off the whois database too, all i got is the blokes name.
I mean is there some legal side to this? cos if I registered say "BurgerKing.co.uk" would I not be breaking the law? same way this guys's registered "nitrovortex.co.uk" knowing full well theres a .com with that name established.
bloody cyber squatters

maybe i should wait and see what goes up on the site, but i've heard stories about people putting porn on their sites and blackmailing peole to buy the domain off them.
Could be wrong, but i think that happened with Marks & Spencer

I bought it, you can have it for £1,500,000 GBP
or for a years free membership to 'Chunky's, the Taiwanese grass bowls club'
On a serious note I'd try and have a word with the ISP if you can't get in contact with the guy himself about the domain and that you're after it.

well you could go for me.uk instead, not the same I know.

yes, but it would be harder to proof then something like a bloke registering the porn.kids domain... and even that is pretty hard to proof (thatit's breaking the law)
that and that international law is a pain.

?
you can't compare between BurgerKing.co.uk and nitrovortex.co.uk -- BK has these legal copyright terms. Is nitrovortex copyrighted to you? If so you should be able to get it off the guy "the nitrovortex is copyrighted to me and as such you would be breaking the law" blah blah.
But if you don't hold copyright legal process over the nitrovortex then I wish you best of luck.
Of course I am not a lawyer but at least that is what some IT papers say/recommend if I recall correctly.

Phantom Flasher...
Just send an email from a no descript account...
Asking if he'd like to sell the domain for £10. Nothing more nothing less. Don't say that you want to use it for a business or what ever.
If he comes back asking more, plead poverty Tell him you are a poor student etc...
The person that registered it could and probably is a flashkit member, so no doubt they are already reading this...
