    Rollover MC's remaining

    Hi folks,

    Having a bit of bother...

    What I want to do is to have a list of buttons down the left hand side, and when someone rolls over them, a movie clip with text and an image appears on the right hand side.
    Simple... but I want the movie clip to remain there until the person rolls over a different one, so that if the mouse isn't over anything, the last rolled over one is still there.

    Can anyone help (very detailed!) or provide a tutorial / file in which this has been done?

    Much appreciated

    Hi,

    This is quite simple to make

    first u need to create a movieclip which contains the different image and description blocks on subsequent keyframes...

    now give each keyframe a descriptive label..

    now on the buttons u give the following actions

    on (RollOver){
    _root.description_mc.gotoAndPlay("corresponding_la bel");
    }

    hope this is helpful

    I was expecting something a bit more complicated!

    Ok... sort of have this working...

    I have about 8 buttons, and it works, until I go over the same button again... then it moves onto the next frame. And if I go back over it again, it goes back to the one its supposed to be. I have a STOP in every frame. Whats wrong?!

    I'll maybe try putting a blank frame between each one instead of having them all in the first 8 frames?

    Sorted...
    It needed to be

    on (RollOver){
    _root.description_mc.gotoAndStop("corresponding_la bel");
    }

    otherwise it seemed to go into the next frame of the MC when you hovered over it twice. Weird!
