This is quite a simple interaction, don't worry it wont bea big headache to set it up!
You can surely find some turorial or sample movie on Flashkit with the script for the "gummy resizement" of the clips...the only changement you have to do to make it work like that is change the trigger to a "Key" event (the best way is to use the onEnterFrame() handler and check for the Key.code within it).
Check out the AS Dictionary for the event handlers, under the "Help" menu in FlashMX..
Hope this helps!

thanks for the help so far - unfortunately i have no idea what 'gummy' resizement is!!! cant find anything on the web about it either, but thanks anyway
thanks also for the links - theyre definitely a step in the right direction - i still am not sure how different squares interact with each other, it doesnt seem a straight case of scaling up and down the size - any other ideas??
cheers

if your really desperate for this effect you can purchase Friends of ED's "New Masters of Flash". It has a whole chapter dedicated to this effect by Yugop the person who created it. Peace.

come on.... would you really through your money on a book just for a simple script?! Man, have you seen how simple it can get to? It's just a matter of 10 lines of code..

Well I have it in front of me... And I'd say it's at least some 150 lines of code! Did a get a cd with the book though!

many thanks again for the help
might get the book as it sounds interesting
(if it were 10 lines of code i think even i could figure it out!!)
cheers fellas
