I am new to Flash. How in the world can I get and use the neat glowing green button that appears in the Flash tutorials?

you can import the button from the tutorial,
the tutorial should be found in your flash folder,
for example : c:\windows\flash\lesson
once you locate the tutorial .fla file,
used "open as library" while you are editing your own flash movie.
To keep your file size small, just remove other imported elements.
