    russian fonts

I am making a site for a translation company and one of the languages they translate is russian,

I a´m using FFF fonts and also verdana, I wonder what should I do to get the russian type to work.
Right now when I paste from my world doc i get all ruusian fonts as question marks.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks

.Doc's usually has a formating that's picked up.

    I would advise.
trying to export your doc to an html document.
    Then stripping the tags.

Also not to sure about Unicode and flash(version?)
Unicode is required to run different language fonts.

Russian having 36 letters and western languages having only
26 letters may have something to do with it as well.

first, be sure that the russian document you have is unicode
on w2k or winXP open notepad, paste the text and save it as utf-8
if you see it corectly after, you have your text in unicode

if you paste that text in textfield with arial for example, without embeding arial anywhere in your movie, users on systems with proper encoding(and arial installed) should see that text corectly (flash6 player of course!)

if you have some old 1byte(non-unicode) russian font and want to use it instead, convert unicode text to 1byte text(with russian script, probably russian iso, im not sure) paste it in your text field, and embed your russian 1byte font for that textfield. In this case everybody will see russian characters, but your .swf file will be 'heavier' for the font size

    Thank you Igord

I want to publish the movie as player5.

Ï think I am going to make a gif image of the text and insert it in the movie, because player 5 doesn't play ciryl fonts...(SIC)

    thanks anyway
