    Open PowerPoint from SWF button

    Hello All,

I'd like to create a button in FlashMX which, when pressed will open a PowerPoint file.
I came across a tutorial on how to use the FSCOMMAND "exec" to trigger a batch file which then triggers the PowerPoint file. This however did not work...
If I double click on the batch file, the PP file will open as required so it seems to be the command in Flash that's causing a problem.
Anyone have another idea on this?

I've got the same question. People suggested that I just use a getURL, but that doesn't work. So far, I can't get anything to work. I am, however, toying with the idea of putting the PowerPoint executable in the fscommand folder and just trying to open that the presentation through the executabe. Good luck! If you find out anything, let me know!

You will need an executeable and use the getUrl there is no other way if you can't import a file into flash

    I FIGURED IT OUT!!!

I'm using PowerPoint XP and Flash MX 2004
The easiest way to make it work is to go into PowerPoint, go to "Save as Web Page",

click "Publish" (bottom-right quadrant of screen),

set your preferences (you may need to try out a couple settings),

then simply run a "getURL" command from flash that links to the powerpoint web version.
