Caputuring screen saver as video?

Is it possible to caputre a screen saver to video?
I was thinking that if I hooked my g4 to a vcr, I could record it..but I don't want to buy the adapter. Is there anyway that I can capture/record the screen saver? Anyone know of any software?

There are some utilities that can capture screen to quicktime.

I once used "copernicus", it's pretty good.

Don't know if they can capture screen savers, though.
