I lost all my partation !!!

i am running windows xp home and had some free space on the hard drive. so i decided to make a partation out of it. i used the windows 98 bootdisk to start the computer and used the fdisk command. some how i deleted the logical drive. when i rebooted my computer i had only C: partation. all the rest D, E, F were gone. i have not formated anything. is there anyway to get them back? i had tons and tons of data on them.

    HELP!!!

    Wow...

I hate to say this...but you're probably screwed.

You can't go messing with partions with FDISK on a drive with existing partitions...that is just asking for trouble.

If you take it to a specialist...they might be able to extract the partitions and save the stuff.

    fdisk /mbr

but I don't think that's gonna help you. how do you know it's there?

I mean, best scenario is to boot using the winXP CD and then enter the Console Recovry, and see if you can at least enumerate the directories on those other partitions.

dude, leave a good working machine alone...

    Extremly good advice.

The times I've had the worst trouble have been when I went "messing".

Good advice above, if it ain't broke, specially if you need the data, then don't mess around with it.. Hope everything was backed up.. too many times people running their PCs for 2 or 3 years and blam, it craps out, they lose everything. Hard lesson to learn.
