    simpliest Photoshop question

Hi, this is the stupidest thing to ever ask, whats the easiest way to stroke the outline of my rectangle or circle in photoshop?

the only way i know is to draw the rectangle or square using the marquee tool and then convert the selection to a path then press the stroke path button, this just seems so long and mental, and i have no control over the size of my stroke, if i try doing it with a circle, the circle path is all jagged?????

in fireworks i have none of these problems, can you guys tell me how you draw simple fills and strokes for circles and rectangles in photoshop.

Control+T is the shortcut to transforming, as in the post above this.

oh yeah but that just screws up the stroke and makes it all blurry, in fireworks i need only select my image and i can grab corner points etc and keep everything nice, i am not given this freedom in photoshop, how do you overcome this?
