Bad Marquee contrast (PSHOP 5.5 and 6.0)

    Hey FK fans and staff.

Got a question that's bugging me since I've first learned Photoshop, but I haven't found a solution if there is one:

When I'm editing an image, specialy when I'm MARQUEE SELECTING, the marque turns "invisible" when I'm over some hues, for example the mid dark grayish colors and all the color variations with those kind of values.

I don't know if this problem is a bug in the program or is there a setting to fix it. This happens to me in versions 5.5 and 6.0, don't know if that doesn't happen in version 7.

    Please help !!
    Thanks,
    Waltman.

CORRECTION to last post about Marquee

Sorry guys, just wanted to correct my self so there is no confusion:

It's the marquee cursor and the lines defined by it when selecting that turn invisible and not precisely the marquee , but the problem is the same described above.

You can see what I'm talking about in the attached image in the first post.

    Thanks.

    MArquee and Tools

see if there is a tolerance setting the lower the tolerance the more of the image selected or you can select by color range
SELECT COLOR RANGE, and a little eyedropper pops up
