How To Write A Tut?
Lol,
Pretty stupid question I know ... but'I'm planing to get my own domain, with lotta open source and tut's... the problem is... how do I write a good tut?
-
In all seriousness, you tend to spell your posts phonetically in that kind of text/type/net/slang speech that is all the rage now and it can drive some people up the wall (me especially because I am a writer/editor and my BA is in English). Keep in mind that there are many people here whose second language is English and that one of the hardest things to pick up on in any language are idioms ('lotta' verse 'lot of' for example). Unfortunately for them, America's cultural dominance via TV and movies should soon take care of that.
1) Spell check and write in a more formal style.
2) Do it step by step. Leave nothing to chance.
3) Ask for input.
4) Comment out all your open source code
5) Plenty of screen shots
6) Ask for input after you post it
7) Did I mention ask for input?
For most tech geeks, it is difficult to get a point across. It seems so simple to you, but to others...so always have other people read it and receive all creative criticism gladly.

.: Weirded Out :.
Hey man,
the more tutorials the better.
When learning AS, i found that a embedded .swf file to show what you should have at that moment in time, is really helpful.
If you save your work, big step, by big step, publish it, then put it in the tutorial......
Hope you get some good feedback, and i'd be happy to help if needed

Thnx for the handy tips
English not not my first, neither my second language... But I understand it jus' enough to keep up with the board (most of the times)
And the reason I (wanna) start making these tut's is cuz I jus' couldn find any good ones when I started with flash...
Anywayz, I'll keep these tips in mind untill I contineu with them tut's

Entshuldigung, I weiss wie schwer es kann sein. Nach vier jahren von Unterrichten kann man nur ein Bisschen mich auf Deutsch verstehen.
Then my apologies, I know how difficult it can be (I can barely get my point across in German forums and I have been learning the language for close to four years).
If you decide to do them in English and need help editing, email me kevinw@perfectdaypublicity.com
