masks and movie clips

I read where you guys talked about this, but, alas, I still don't understand.

I have a scroll button that is targeting, upon release, the movie clip "text". That works great and I am excited. Then I tried to put a mask (in edit mode) so that it looks like the "text" is rolling up out of nowhere.

Does this make sense? I can't get the scroll button to work when i have a mask going. Is there a way to do this? I know there must be.

Yes There Is Following On from What i Told You About The scrolling!!
Your Text Movie Clip Will Be On A layer so add a new layer above this and put your mask on this layer then right click this layer and select mask this should not affect the scroller in any way!!the way i think you have done it is pu the mask inside the movie clip that you scroll!!!
