Opening Flash Files on PC that were made on Mac / Problems Opening

I can open some .fla that were given to me on a PC. I have gone to another mac and resaved them and they will open after I resave them on any platform. But wondering why its happening to avoid it in the future and alternate ways of dealing with it.

If anyone could shead some light on the situation I would be most greatful.

There shouldn't really be any problem, but for some reason there often is.

If you want to force flash to open a file which you know is a .fla file, then go to File > Open and in the dialog that appears choose "All Files" (or something similar on the PC) from the File Type drop down menu choice.

Other than that, there's not really much else you can do.
