I must admit i prefered your original design. This one looks a bit too frail if you know what I mean - it needs a bit of meat on it.

I agree with drog, it looks weak now. Not as bold as before and almost looks like clipart. Your on the right track with showing that it's software, but stay away from the whole clipart look. If you want this to look strong and corporate like, you might want to look at examples of some of the big companies. You'll definetly get some inspiration from these two companies.

Look at their logos and inspire yourself to create something like that. Then you know it will be strong.

thanks for the comments everyone... i agree about the new one looking a bit weaker... i still have alot to learn about making logos, but what i really enjoy about them is the challenge of trying to fit an idea, and an identity, onto the simplest thing possible... its a very nice break from the busy, detailed design style.

I like the first one as it was a proper logo... the second one is an "ok" illustration but not a logo yet... the idea is ok...

Try making it simpler... adding wider lines - just one colour / no shading - and put the mouse in 3D as an add on to the name that explains what the company does...

The approach can work... just modify it and refine it...
