    RPG - Xenosaga or Baldur's Gate 2
    FPS - Half-Life
RTS - Original C&C (although things are better now, that game started it all, and ran ****)
    Puzzle - Bust a Move
Racing - Mario Kart or GT3
The future belongs to those who prepare for it today.

Anyway my thoughts for what their worth: Paradroid on the C64 is the best game ever, gameplay wise it's perfection.

Best horizontal shoot 'em up in Flash would have to be <*cough*>Delta<*cough*>

In real life I would say ngfx port of Cauldron II is still one of the best things I've seen in Flash.

Actually, I believe it started with Dune 2 which was the first game from Westwood that was in the C&C style. Of course they totally pooched it up a few years later when they released a remake of Dune 2 called Dune 2000.

Although that's true, it didn't really take off with Dune 2. It was a decent game, but C&C really started it. That's when RTSs became a dime a dozen.

Beat 'em up - Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance
    First Person Shooter - Half-Life

MGS is the GREATEST stealth game. I'm forcing my opinions here!

i dunno, i've seen splinter cell, it looks mighty nice.

in MGS you can just run away half the time and you aren't remembered by the guards. they give up.
