    Fla Size ?

I recently added a couple of large audio files in an FLA
i noticed a huge increase in size
when i removed them from the library and saved the FLA
it still had a large file size
but when i saved the same file as a new filename
    the size decreased
does anyone know why this happens
maybe a "save as" goes through the library when a "save" doesn't
    hmmmmmmmmm

I refreshed a few time, AFTER i closed flash.

    Hope it works for ya.

no,that´s not a rare problem and no,that´s also no bug,its just like that.flash adds each new item in the library to the end of the queue (so its like just adding one thing to the end of the list).so you can´t really remove things from the library,as flash can´t take something out of the list which is somewhere in the middle of the list.
you can delete items from the library and then you won´t see them in your library anymore, but internally they are still there.
(like tyg said, you can import lots of sounds to the library or lots of whopping filesized bitmaps, then save the fla, then remove all unused items to try that).
a different thing happens once you save the fla as new fla under another name,as then the library(list) gets built up and saved new from ground up,so deleted library items don´t get saved.
besides that its also good to know that if you work long time on a project filesize might get bigger (even filesize of the swf,not only of the fla).try this out by copying all frames of a fla you worked on for a long time into a new fla, then also copy all the library from the old fla to the new fla, once you test the new fla,the swf may be much smaller than the one from the old fla.
(i said may be as that depends on may things i won´t explain here, but it generally works with things you worked a lot on,saved many times etc.)

    Thanks TomSamson
    that makes sense
do you know if there is an option that can be set to
    recompile through the library
or is it best to just save to different filenames
    after a long session

no prob and sorry, there´s no auto way of getting around it,you have to select "select all unused items" in the library, then delete them and then save the fla under a new name.
