Custom Gradient in Photoshop 7.0

Hi,

Can anybody tell me how I can create a new custom gradient?
When I press the little bleu arrow and select new gradient, it just duplicates the current gradient.

i usually go this way.

right click layer in layers palette > blending options > gradient overlay > customize your gradient




in your case when you press the new button he sends the gradient to the presets window.
now.. first customize your gradient > rename > press "new" > your gradient is in the presets window
