    sams learn absolutly nothing in 24 hours

    the learn whatever in 24 hours used to not bother me but now they are everywhere and you cnt find any truely usefull books anywhere anymore
    im planning on going to the nearest college to go find some programming books maybey they will have better books than that trash at the local bookstore
    anyone know where to find any decent books online
    im like a superhero with no powers or modivation

    I've always found those Sams books to be very good, I got 3 of them, still go back to them occasionally.

    Only criticism of them is that the pictures inside are black & white only.

    The Learn X in 24 Hours are good if you know absolutely nowt about that subject!

    But you could always try the Unleashed series!
    Is in C++ Unleashed = also by Sams

    Stick with O'Reilly, you won't go wrong.

    Actually, the Macromedia Press books as of late have been very good.

    Honestly, do you expect to learn C++ or ASP in only 24 hours?

    Let's get realistic here. Try the longer term books, they'll be beneficial in the long run. The Sams 24 hour books are just the same as the "+insert name+ for Dummies."

    I agree. learning something in 24 hours is not the best way to do it... not unless you need to figure out a part of the process that has escaped you - for instance... I had to learn Triggers and T-SQL (transact SQL) quickly... did it by studying only that section though.
