    saving .mov file from online

Is there a way to save a QuickTime to your desktop from a web site? IT gives the save as QuickTime link as grayed out. So I can't select it. Is there another way to get it?

Have u tried right clicking and selecting save target as . .
If not then play it (if thats a choice) and look for it on your *.tmp

As I said in my first thread the option to save it is grayed out meaning I can't save it. But what do you mean by
and look for it on your *.tmp
In my hardrive I typed in c:\temp but there was nothing in there.
    Thanks for your reply.

    Hi.
If they are using a streaming server to serve the video (as opposed to progressive download) you won't be able to capture the video.

Try netscape - find the url for the movie, then save to the desktop. As mentioned earlier - this won't work for RTSP.

If you have a couple of extra buck, buy the QT Pro license ($15?). One of the best apps I have on my system - I'm crunching a movie with it right this moment as a matter of fact.

The link you posted (300k link) is a Windows streaming server file. You won't be able to open this in QuickTime and you won't likely see it in your temp files. Streaming files like this (and RTSP) don't save to your memory, but stream and delete as they play.

Hope I didn't give you bad advice on the QT Pro thing - but I was under the assumption that you were tying to save a .mov file.

If you come across a QT video embeded in a page like this, you simply find the URL and copy/paste into the "Open URL" link in the QT Pro "File" menu - then you simply save as "self-contained movie" to your machine.
