    Hi All,

I'd like some feedback on this intro please. Keep it, work on it, trash it?

    Thanks!

I kinda liked it. Its missing something though. Not quite sure what?

I didn't care for the the comic book hit though- that's just me though.

The flying text (SQL, HTML etc) could be smoother. I think it just needs tightening up.

It's nice to see Koolmoves (I presume) given a little exercise.

Johnie - My thoughts as well, it is missing something. I don't know what. I think the comic book thing is lame too. I'll come up with something else.

Andrew C - Good call. I'll work on the flying text. Yep, it was made totally in Koolmoves. I have zero experience with Flash or Swish.

    Thanks!

    Needs some background color/motion

    Looking good! A few thoughts:

Try throwing a few moving backgrounds in there, maybe it'll make it a little less stark. Also, consider having some of the effects happen simultaneously, or at least with a little overlap. Watching each effect separately can make a movie drag after a while.

One final thing: you need to change "You're" to "Your" on the first few occurences...

    Hi,
I liked it. Since the "you're" to "your" issue has been addressed, I can only say two things:

I would put a "skip intro" button.

I would keep the "punch". I like it.

Great Job. Nice job getting the music to come through that clearly, also!

    Did some revisions

Thanks for the feedback!! It really is helping me out.

Flashopper - I've been trying to pin down some sort of moving background idea, but have had no success. Any ideas? I added some overlapping and movement to the text as well as a transition type effect to the music change in the middle. Good advise.

mbain - This is just a test. I will be adding a "skip" button in the preloader. (Ugh.. the preloader... that's whole other animal). I changed the sound for the punch, I'm starting to like it a little more now.

I made some changes... you can compare and give me more of your thoughts.

    New version - http://www.doellefeld.com/test/dimintro3.html

    Old version - http://www.doellefeld.com/test/dimintro2.html

    Thanks guys!

I wouldn't fade that killer looking gradient effect at the end on the the three big letters. looks cool.

Nice, I like the music and sound effects.
    one thing I noticed-

The flying text(jave, html, etc...) was slow in playing, especially when compared with the rest of the movie, keep with your fast paced design company theme.

Try doing something simple like some basic geometric shapes of some sort with a semi-transparent fill color, at say 50% alpha. If you have two shapes in the background and have them cross over each other, then you'll get some interesting color changes where they intersect (provided they're two different colors, each with an alpha value that's not 100%)...

Just looked at the new one. The overlap definitely works for me, much more engaging, doesn't take as long... Nice!

webexec,...Very neat stuff. My only recommendation would be to rid yourself of the stark white background. A solid color is fine,..but maybe black or deep blue or gray. Just my little bit of advice as worthless as it always is.

Need a check from someone with a dial-up connection

Can someone with a dial-up check this preloader out? I'm too fast... I can't tell if it's working right or not...

    http://www.doellefeld.com/test/loader.html

    Thanks!

P.S. I haven't worked on the background yet, but will.

    Thanks Johnie.

Just so I am crystal clear... The "get url" command load the entire movie and page. Correct?

Great! Don't want to nitpick but.....such a beautiful intelligent presentation demands accuracy - and if I'm not mistaken, the word You're really means you are and should be plain old YOUR. Hate to see the message lose its impact because of a simple misspelling. Forgive critique if I'm wrong or it was intentional.
