    Hi,

Just interested to know if anyone has any links to tutorials / info about how to create the scrolling mechanism as seen in the top-left corner of the site http://www.threeoh.com - I've tried to save the page and dissect it but the bugger's got about 50 layers in it, way too complex for me!

    Cheers

I know there is a dreamweaver extention that allows you to place such a dhtml / java scroll box on your page. If you're using dreamweaver, goto the macromedia site and download the extention manager. then look for "absolutely postioned dhtml scroller", or something to that effect. Install it and then place it on your page using the wizard.

If you don't use dreamweaver, go here http://www.rubiconsult.com/tanapa/tanfacts.htm .

Its for a site i'm working on but feel free to check out the source. you should be able to figure out how its done...

    thanks!

Hi there - thanks for that! I'm just downloading the extensions manager now, though your site has exactly what I'm after, and only 4 layers! Nice site by the way - have you been to Tanzania? I spent my first 11 years in Botswana, nice to see such a modern slant on the parks. Anyway, thanks for your help on that one.

    Regards

I lived in TZ from 95-97 working w/ UNDP. i am doing the TANAPA site probono trying to help out. check http://www.rubiconsult.com/tanga/tanga.htm to take a look at a site im doing about my xperience there. note:the only section done is home/people/pictures. btw, its not optimized yet so i'd suggest checking it out w/ a broadband connect.

were you born in botswana?? my understanding is that botswana has their stuff together relative to the majority of other sub-Saharan countries.

    thanks, it works

    Hi Crockett

I downloaded the dreamweaver extension you mentioned, and wow does it make life easy! Thanks for pointing me to it.

I wasn't born in botswana, just lived there from when I was 6 wks old til' I was 10 and a half years old. Wonderful place for a kid to grow up, and yes, in comparison to many african countries it does seem to be prosperous and stable.

Nice sites you've done, by the way.

    Thanks again

    jim
